Silicone-Based Defoamers
Silicone-based defoamers are highly efficient antifoaming agents using polyorganosiloxane and its derivatives as core active components, formulated through specialized processes to uniformly disperse hydrophobic silica and other constituents in silicone carriers. Their exceptional performance stems from extremely low surface tension (20-22 mN/m) and powerful hydrophobic characteristics, enabling defoamer droplets to rapidly penetrate foam films and spread aggressively, achieving instantaneous bubble rupture through dual mechanisms of disrupting film elasticity and promoting drainage. These defoamers deliver combined rapid defoaming and persistent foam suppression, maintaining stable activity under extreme conditions including wide pH ranges, high temperatures, and pressure environments, while offering advantages of chemical inertness, non-toxicity, and environmental safety. Widely applied in pulp/paper manufacturing, petroleum extraction, food fermentation, chemical synthesis, and wastewater treatment, their low dosage requirements and high efficiency make them the preferred solution for industrial defoaming applications.
